Warnert Racing finishes strong at ISOC snocross season finale in Duluth

Here we are, the last race of the season! We came into this weekend knowing we would have to overcome a 19 point deficit if we wanted to win the championship. Everyone knew we would need to execute flawlessly… and we would need a metric tonne of luck as well!

Jordan Lebel – Pro
The game plan of flawless execution would be interrupted very early in the opening laps of Jordan’s first qualifier. The #511 was fighting for a top position, until he wasn’t… An iron torpedo would strike Jordan center mass in a corner. Not only sending him bumper-over-tea kettle, but ultimately setting the tone for the rest of the night. This would lead to an outside gate pick in Friday’s Pro Final. Despite this, Jordan was able to work his way to the lead, and was looking to secure a win. Towards the end of the race, lap traffic would come into play. Jordan would find himself on the losing end of a pick-and-roll scenario behind some back markers and cross the finish line in P2. His dismay was evident having to stand on the second step of the podium. With the points deficit widening, it would take an act of God to bring home a championship, and it turned out God was a little busy getting ready for Easter. The championship would be officially conceded by the end of the 2nd heat race, and he would have to settle for second place in the overall points standings.

Jordan had nothing to lose going into the last Final of the season. Despite starting from the back row, Lebel put on a certified beat down on the rest of the field. With an 11 second lead, he would take home his 6th win of the season. A positive way to end a sour weekend, and end the year as best we could!

Naeli Lebel – Pro Am Women
Naeli was fighting to keep herself in 4th place in the Pro Women’s overall standings. In Friday’s Final, Lebel would get a great start and shake out in P2 in the opening laps. Amongst all the chaos in the race, Naeli was able to keep herself out of trouble and stick to her lines. She would finish the night with a trip to the podium, and take home a silver medal. Her second podium of the season! On Saturday she would continue to run strong. In her final she had a great start, and remained towards the front of the pack. She would end her season with a P4 finish, and P4 overall in the points standings! This would also be Naeli’s last race at full time capacity as a Pro Women’s racer. She will certainly be missed on the team and in the Pro Women’s class!

Tavin Knudson – Sport
With Tavin’s injury earlier in the season, he had no points implications to race for, only pride! In Friday’s final, Tavin would lead in the early laps, and then self-eject on a tricky part of the track. He was able to get back up and running in P6. He was able to work his way back up to a third place podium spot! Come Saturday, Tavin didn’t mess around. In the Sport Final, he would ride flawlessly. He would make a pass into the lead about half way through the race and check out for the win! Tavin was able to rack up 3 wins this season!

Thank you to everyone that has supported our program. We wish we could have brought home a championship, but in the process we were able to earn 10 wins and 16 podiums across 4 classes. We will be back again next year only looking to improve, and bring home more hardware! Thank you once again, and we look forward to doing it all over again next year!
