Rounds 11 and 12 of the National Amsoil ISOC race series were held this past weekend in Salamanca, New York. The fans in New York are always awesome, it makes the long drive worth it! The energy of the crowd gets you excited for a weekend of racing!
The #201 Travis Kern came on strong on Friday going 1-3 in his rounds. Not getting quite the start he was hoping for in the final, Travis ended finishing 7th. On Saturday Travis did well again, going 2-1 in his rounds.. He came of the line in the top 5, working towards a podium, but a slight bobble caused him to end the race in 4th. Consistency was they key for Travis this weekend, as he finished the weekend 4th in points. He is ready for the work that needs to be done for the last few rounds of racing to finish strong.

The #21 Cole Cottew had a solid start going 4-4 in his rounds on Friday. Coming off the line towards the front, and a direct hit with another sled caused them both to go down. Cole was a half lap down from the field, and pushed hard for some passes to salvage a 9th place finish. Saturday Cole went 4-2 in his rounds, the best of the year. He again had a great start in the final in 5th, but a broken tie rod caused him to not finish the race. He is learning every weekend what it takes to be competitive at the pro level and can’t wait for the next two rounds in Michigan.
The mechanics had our Polaris sleds ripping all weekend. We could not do any of this without the strength of a strong team of mechanics. They are so dedicated to making these sleds go, and we appreciate all the work they put in.
Cottew Motorsports would also like to thank Polaris, Western Power Sports, Fly Racing, Ditch Witch of Minnesota and Iowa, Aggressive Hydraulics, Hayford Ford, Bid 2 Buy, Amsoil, Walker Evans Shocks, Stud Boy Traction, Hanco Utilities, Rox Speed FX, Caliber, C & A Pro Skis, and Black Label Design and Wrap. We could not do this without our sponsors! Looking forward to the next race that will be held on March 13-14, 20, in Michigan!
