Elias Ishoel Extends Championship Lead In Michigan Jordan Lebel Adds To Win Total

Winnipeg, MB (February 5, 2019) – Elias Ishoel made a return to the podium on Saturday night, finishing second in the Pro final and leaving Michigan with a 35 point lead in the championship.

Ishoel just missed a podium on Friday night, starting and finishing the main event in fourth place, less than one second behind third. The big story, however, was that Ishoel went undefeated throughout the weekend in Pro qualifying where valuable bonus points are awarded to the winner.

Aki Pihlaja was involved in a first lap tangle that caused him to go one lap down at the start of Friday’s race where he finished 13th. Pihlaja rebounded nicely on Saturday finishing fifth overall keeping himself in the points chase.

Jordan Lebel picked up a pair of wins in the Junior classes to go along with a hard-earned second place in the Sport Lite final. The young racer out of Quebec continues to lead the championship in all three divisions.

The national series will have a two week break before resuming on February 22-23 in Salamanca, New York.
